Bid_in Scotland - Belfast Brain Game
Since introducing Bid_in to Scotland in October 2017, our key focus has been customer service and building relationships. We want our clients to feel like we are on their event journey with them. The passion that Event and Fundraising Managers have to ensure that their event runs seamlessly, whilst also raising the maximum they can, is shared by the team at Blue Parrot. Many of our team come from a fundraising and events background and are able to put ourselves in the client’s shoes which is important. We never run an event without knowing everything about it and understanding the aim of the evening.
In 2018, we had the pleasure of working with Marie Curie on both the Belfast and Glasgow Brain Game and were absolutely delighted when Catherine, Special Events Manager, contacted us to work with them again on their Belfast event which took place May.
May was a busy time of year for Blue Parrot Events with some of the team flying off to Sweden to deliver another event. As Business Development Manager for the Bid_in brand, I always try my best to attend the events we’re involved with to make sure everything runs smoothly. This year, instead of calling upon our ops guys, I decided that the girls could take one for the team and my colleague Sarah, Business Development Manager for our Event Art brand, and I jumped on a ferry to Belfast.
For those of you who haven’t heard about the Marie Curie Brain Games, they are posh black tie quiz nights. Great as a team or corporate night out or a night with friends.
For the Brain Game events we always supply linen and decor and try to work with Catherine to introduce some theming around one of the quiz rounds. Last year we provided our Friends themed products. This year Catherine was introducing a Game of Thrones round which worked out great as we had recently introduced a throne to our prop hire list and were keen to get it out and seen.
The silent auction that we provide is a key aspect of fundraising on the night and Marie Curie are really lucky with their committee and contacts to secure fantastic prizes. On the night the silent auction raised £13,000!
Catherine has now contracted us for their Glasgow Brain Game on 3rd of October which takes place at Hilton Glasgow. We will of course be providing their silent auction and are chatting about theming and décor through our Event Art brand.
Following the event, we asked Catherine about her experience with us:
“Marie Curie worked with Bid_in at our recent Belfast Brain Game. Emma & Sarah at the event were fantastic, they set up very efficiently and dealt with all queries that arose in a fast and friendly manner! We worked closely with Emma in the lead up to the event to make sure that we had the photos and text that we wanted and all our auction lots looked amazing on the bidding technology on the night. Marie Curie supports people living with a terminal illness and their families and the auctions at the Belfast Brain Game raised much needed funds to help continue this. We want to say a massive thank you to everyone at Bid_In for helping make the event such a success!”
We are looking forward to continuing our relationship with Marie Curie for the Glasgow Brain Game and beyond.
