The Big Hearts Gala
The Big Hearts Community Trust is a non-profit organisation based in Gorgie, South West Edinburgh.
The official charity of Heart of Midlothian Football Club, they believe in the power of the club’s crest to reach out and engage with people most in need of support. A well-established football charity in Edinburgh, Big Hearts aims to bring community resources together to offer adults and children free opportunities to help them live a safe and fulfilling life. They focus their programmes on mental health, social connections and equal opportunities.
We met with Kirsty Coutts, Events & Fundraising Manager, who was running this event for the second year. Along with increasing funds raised, Kirsty was looking to add some special touches to the event.
We supported the fundraising element of the event through our Event PAL brand, with online donations and a silent auction. Using the QR code provided, guests were able to access the silent auction in advance of the event and the bids came rolling in before the big night itself. Kirsty was delighted with the results of the evening, with the amount raised double that of the year before!
On the event décor side, Kirsty was looking to change things up a little. Through our Event Art Scotland brand, we installed black star cloth drape throughout the room and supplied our patented designed LED table centres. Big Hearts popped signed footballs onto our acrylic legs which tied in perfectly with the ethos of the event!
